Happy New Year!

On behalf of the Spiritual Naturalist Society Council and Volunteers, I wish all of you a happy New Year.

What a strange year it’s been! Despite its challenges, I hope you all were able to find joy in this past year and that the coming year will bring even better things.

To start off the New Year, here is a poem by Emily Dickenson that I think rather succinctly sums up many aspects of Spiritual Naturalism:

Some Keep the Sabbath Going to Church

Some keep the Sabbath going to Church –
I keep it, staying at Home –
With a Bobolink for a Chorister –

And an Orchard, for a Dome

Some keep the Sabbath in Surplice –
I, just wear my Wings –
And instead of tolling the Bell, for Church,

Our little Sexton – sings.

God preaches, a noted Clergyman –
And the sermon is never long,
So instead of getting to Heaven, at last –

I’m going, all along.
